Today is the start of the Hunted blog tour! The Hunted tour is hosted by A Novel Outing | A book tour site. Cheryl Rainfield, author of Hunted, is starting her blog tour here! The Hunted tour is going on throughout the month of March, so make sure to check back every day for an update on where Cheryl is!
To start off the tour, Cheryl has written a guest post for you all. I hope you enjoy.

I feel so very lucky that I write books for a living (even if it’s sometimes tight). I get to do what I love and what it feels like I’m here for–to reach people through my books. I pour myself into my books; I feel like I put bits of my soul into each one. I also draw on my trauma and abuse experience to write them, as well as healing and compassion. My abusers used to tell me that I would never succeed, and that no one would ever listen to me or believe me. But I am being heard through my books; they are my voice, and I’m so grateful that people are reading (and liking) what I write!
I’m a ritual abuse survivor; my parents were part of cults. For me, HUNTED is an analogy to cults or to cult-like groups that oppress, although many readers may not pick that up. I also deal with homophobia, sexism, and oppression in HUNTED–but I didn’t do it in a preachy way. I wrote HUNTED so that it would be an entertaining, adrenaline-rush read. I’m hoping readers will also absorb some of the messages in HUNTED, such as that it’s important to be yourself; to try to stop oppression; and to stand up for people who need it.
In HUNTED, Caitlyn is a telepath in a world where having any Paranormal power is illegal. So she’s on the run from government troopers a lot. If the troopers catch her, they can torture her, enslave her, even kill her, or force her to hunt down other Paranormals. When Caitlyn and her mom settle in a city, Caitlyn falls for Alex, a Normal–someone without Paranormal powers–which is dangerous because he can turn her in. And then she discovers a group of renegade Paranormals, who want to get rid of all Normals. Caitlyn must decide whether she’s going to stay in hiding to protect herself, or whether she’s going to take a stand to save the world.
HUNTED has been getting wonderful responses from reviewers so far; most tell me that once they pick up HUNTED, they can’t put it down until they finish it, and to me, that’s an incredible compliment! I hope that readers will experience HUNTED the same way.
I’m excited and thankful that you’re doing a blog tour for HUNTED; I hope HUNTED reaches people who hadn’t heard of it yet, and moves them.
